Make Calls To Support New Yorkers

Share Vital Resources with NYC Veterans

Provide important resources and services through one-on-one phone calls to veterans in partnership with the New York City Department of Veterans' Services.

About Mission: VetCheck

Mission: VetCheck relies on passionate volunteers like you to make wellness check-in calls to veterans across NYC. Volunteers reconnect with veterans, thank them for their service, and ensure they are aware of the resources available to them.

Why it matters:

These friendly check-ins provide veterans with vital information, offer assistance in navigating available resources, and help alleviate any feelings of isolation. By simply taking the time to listen and engage, you will help make veterans feel seen, appreciated, and connected to a network of support. Your efforts will encourage veterans to utilize the services they need, while also fostering a deeper sense of community and gratitude for their contributions.

"I have learned so much being a part of this project. I have encountered several veterans whose lives have been fundamentally changed due to the services provided through the Department of Veterans Services. Through the intervention of DVS, they entered into the shelter system and now have found permanent housing for themselves and their families, job training and upcoming job placement."
